Rest in Peace—Fr. Steven Nyl, C.Ss.R.

Rev. Steven John Nyl, C.Ss.R., died peacefully yesterday afternoon, December 16 at Angelsgrace Hospice Center in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

Fr. Nyl was born August 20, 1959 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He professed first vows as a Redemptorist on August 2, 1997, and made final vows on October 15, 2000. He was ordained to the priesthood on September 1, 2001.

Fr. Nyl ministered as Associate Pastor at St. Joseph’s Parish in Denver and St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Whittier. He later served as Pastor and Associate Pastor at St. Alphonsus Parish in Minneapolis, and Pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption in Whittier. His most recent appointment was to the Baton Rouge community as a member of the Hispanic ministry team.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:

There will be two services.  The first will be held at the Crooked Lake Retreat Center. Fr. Nyl’s body will then be transported to St. Clement’s Mission Community for full funeral rites and burial at Liguori.
