Thien Hoang, C.Ss.R., a Theology student of the Denver Province, renewed his vows as a Redemptorist on May 21 at Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Garland, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. Thien is currently in his pastoral year at Oblate Theology School in San Antonio. For his pastoral year he has been assigned to engage in parish work with the Redemptorist Vietnamese Vice-Province of Extra-Patriam, which is headquartered in Houston.
Denver Provincial Superior Stephen Rehrauer, C.Ss.R., delegated the right to accept Thien’s vows to Fr. Paul Hai Nguyen, C.Ss.R., Pastor of Perpetual Help. Also present to witness the vows were Fr. Hung Le, C.Ss.R., Vocation Director for Ex-Patriam and Fr. Hao Pham, C.Ss.R., Associate Pastor.
Delegation of vows is nothing new, the COVID19 pandemic gave way to unity and solidarity between the Denver Province and the Extra Patriam Vice Province. This renewal brought into fruition a definite sign of God’s grace present during this trying time of Pandemic.
Mother of Perpetual Help is one of the larger, more active parishes staffed by confreres of the Extra Patriam Vice Province.
