Why this Workshop?

The purpose of this workshop is to gather lay people interested in exploring Redemptorist Spirituality. By understanding this spirituality, you will get insights into the Redemptorist Congregation that ministers to the Church and preaches the Good News of Jesus the Redeemer. If this perspective of faith resonates with you, you might want more contact with this religious order for your own journey of faith and common Christian ministry.

Who are the Redemptorist “family”?

The “Redemptorist family” includes professed Redemptorists and people connected to the Redemptorists in a variety of ways.  Historically, Redemptorists have worked alongside the laity in many different ways. Without the laity, many apostolic programs would not be able to succeed. All are, according to their varied callings, missionary disciples of Christ, drawn to and animated by the spirit of St. Alphonsus Liguori and the Redemptorists. One form of connection and involvement is that of Redemptorist Associates.

Who are Redemptorist Associates?

Those who participate in the workshop are invited to explore the possibility of becoming Redemptorist Associates. We meet regularly for faith-sharing and ongoing formation in the Redemptorist charism and spirituality. Some meet as a local “circle” ordinarily associated with a local Redemptorist community, but now we can also connect as a virtual circle – one that is not defined by a location but connected through the internet via Zoom video conferencing technology.

What is Zoom?

Zoom is a well-established video conferencing application. Anyone with a PC/Laptop with camera, tablet or “smart” phone and a “good” internet connection can participate. If you have ever used FaceTime, Hangouts. WebEx or Skype you can use Zoom.
Please email or call John Davenport ([email protected] or (440) 478-1203) to set up a practice session or check out on YouTube.

We are grateful for the laity who enable us to live the mission of Jesus the Redeemer. For more information about us, go to our webpage. The document is a great overview in understanding our spirituality and charism.

Workshop Presentations

You can view presentations on your own here or by opening YouTube and searching for the phrase, “An Exploration of Redemptorist Spirituality”. We desire to gather as a people of faith. We pray for an end to the pandemic so that our gatherings of the Redemptorist Family can resume.

Mother of Perpetual Help, with the greatest confidence we come before your holy picture to beseech your intercession. We think of you, Mother, at the foot of the Cross. Your heart must have bled to see your Son in agony. But your joy was great when He rose from the dead, victorious over the powers of evil. Mother of Sorrows pray for us in this time of trial. Help us not to lose heart. Intercede for your people who are afflicted with Coronavirus. Comfort your people who are vulnerable and anxious. Protect healthcare workers who put their lives at risk. Inspire our leaders to make good decisions. Change our hearts so that we may act responsibly. Teach us to trust in God’s love and mercy and to share with you the joy of having courageously faced up to all the challenges of Life.
